Shooting at Chișinău Airport: Passengers Evacuated

A shooting occurred at Chișinău Airport in the capital of Moldova. One passenger opened fire, according to NewsMaker.

The individual involved is a foreigner who was denied entry into Moldova. Diana Fetko, head of the Communications Department of the Main Police Inspectorate, confirmed the reports of gunfire at the airport.

Unverified reports suggest that a border police officer was injured as a result of the shooting. Passengers were evacuated from the airport. According to unverified information, a security officer was killed with his own firearm, which was taken by the assailant.

Local media also report that the shooter has already been detained. Moldova's Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms the arrest of the criminal. It was also noted that the assailant was injured during the arrest.

As of the latest available information, there are two reported fatalities, one of whom was a border police officer.
