VIDEO. There Was No Room for a 4th Person in the Elevator, Says Pashinyan on 'Elevator Negotiations'

“When we took the elevator with the President of Azerbaijan in 2019 in Dushanbe, the third person with us was Grigori Hayrapetyan, there was no room for a fourth person,” said Nikol Pashinyan while responding to questions in the parliamentary investigative committee.

“The representatives of the opposition were trying to suggest that there was a conspiratorial conversation. At that time, I had already dismissed Hayrapetyan from his position. He was also present at that conversation. I told the opposition: invite him, he is no longer under orders, he is not in service, understand what could have happened in the elevator. The special forces might be aware that something was discussed while walking, but they cannot be aware of the content of negotiations held in a closed room; that’s not their job,” Pashinyan emphasized.

He was asked whether the special forces officers at the time could know details about the closed meeting between Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev that took place at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
