Former World Weightlifting Champion Vladimir Sedov Commits Suicide
Former world weightlifting champion and leading member of the Kazakhstan national team, Vladimir Sedov, has committed suicide. This information was reported by the press service of the Kazakhstan Weightlifting Federation.
Vladimir Sedov was 35 years old. He competed in the 94 kg weight class and won the title of world champion in 2009.
Before the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, his doping test sample, taken during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was retested. The sample revealed the presence of the prohibited stimulant stanozolol. As a result, all of Vladimir Sedov's records from 2008 to 2016 were annulled.
