Video: Prigozhin Discusses Events in Russia and Mentions the Reasons
The leader of the Wagner military group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has spoken about the events that took place in Russia. He stated that the purpose of the uprising was to prevent the destruction of the Wagner PMC and to hold accountable those individuals who had made numerous mistakes with their unprofessional actions.
He declared that the uprising was raised after their camp was bombed, resulting in the death of thirty individuals. According to him, their aim was to express discontent rather than to change the legally elected authorities in Russia.
Prigozhin expressed regret that they fired upon the air forces, but he asserted that these forces had bombed the Wagner fighters as well. It is worth recalling that on June 24, the Wagner group initiated a rebellion and entered Rostov-on-Don at night, subsequently moving toward Moscow, although they did not reach the capital.
The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, also issued a statement, deeming the actions as treachery and a blow from behind. On the evening of June 24, Yevgeny Prigozhin announced that they were 'withdrawing to field camps as planned.'
