Lukashenko and Prigozhin Have Known Each Other for 20 Years: Peskov
The Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko participated in negotiations with the founder of the Wagner Group, as he has personally known Yevgeny Prigozhin for about 20 years.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov during a conversation with reporters.
Peskov noted that during the conversation between the Russian president and his Belarusian counterpart, an agreement was reached for Lukashenko to exert mediating efforts in the resolution process.
“And we highly appreciate these efforts,” he added.
Peskov previously described the recent events as “quite severe” and “filled with tragic incidents,” but stated that what has occurred will not affect military operations in Ukraine in any way.
