Putin: We Are Not Closing Doors for Those Who Want to Work in Russia
During the past year, Russian manufacturers submitted more than 90,000 applications for trademark registrations. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“We have chosen the path of expanding free entrepreneurship, and we have acted quite rightly. The main result was the replacement of multinational corporations that left our market. We never expelled anyone; each of our partners had the right of choice.
However, many goods sold under foreign brands are produced by our own manufacturing capabilities. Essentially, this was a Russian product, just sold under a foreign brand,” explained Putin.
He noted that foreign companies remaining in Russia will be treated the same way as domestic companies. If foreign producers wish to return, we are not closing doors for anyone. He emphasized that necessary conditions will be created for them, but the specifics of these partners' behavior will also be taken into account.
At the same time, he mentioned that representatives of the business community are requesting not to allow the return of foreign companies that have left Russia.
