The Topic of the 'Zangezur Corridor' is Closed for Armenia: Khandanyan
The Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Relations Committee, Sargis Khandanyan, has stated that the topic of the 'Zangezur Corridor' is closed for Armenia.
"This is evident, acceptable, and understandable for the parties who mediate in the negotiations. As described by Azerbaijan, having a sovereign corridor through the territory of Armenia is a topic that does not exist and cannot exist; it is extremely unacceptable for Armenia, and Armenia will never negotiate on this matter," he said during a press briefing with reporters at the National Assembly.
According to Khandanyan, if Azerbaijan maintains the same logic when expressing the term 'Zangezur Corridor' as it has in the past, it constitutes a territorial claim against Armenia. "Unfortunately, the President of Azerbaijan, in the extent to which the Prime Minister of Armenia has spoken about mutually recognizing territorial integrity, has not yet addressed it; their discussions only scratch the surface," he added.
