Erdogan Announces Elimination of ISIS Leader in Syria
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced on TRT TÜRK television that the Turkish intelligence has eliminated the leader of the Islamic State terrorist organization, Abu al-Hussein al-Qurashi, in Syria.
“Turkey's national intelligence has been monitoring ISIS leader Abu al-Hussein al-Qurashi for a long time. This individual was liquidated yesterday in Syria as a result of an operation conducted by Turkish intelligence,” he stated.
Earlier, the U.S. Central Command had indicated the possible elimination of the ISIS leader in Syria, who was reported to be planning attacks in the Middle East and Europe.
