Armenia Ready to Host CSTO Observers, Says Pashinyan
Armenia is ready to host a CSTO observer mission on its territory. This announcement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a conversation with reporters in parliament.
He emphasized that Armenia has outlined its concerns in this regard: “Our concern and desire is for the potential mission to be effective. This is important for both Armenia, the CSTO, and the region. We continue to work in this direction,” he stated.
According to Pashinyan, it is essential to distinguish CSTO from the EU: “The CSTO has security obligations towards Armenia, and Armenia has also fulfilled its obligations fully during the events in Kazakhstan in 2022. In other words, the EU mission cannot be placed on the same level as the CSTO mission,” Pashinyan noted.
