Tegh is the Best Prepared Community, It Has an Armory, Says MP

Tegh community in Syunik province is the best prepared. It has an armory, and they have no issues with weapons. This was stated by MP Armen Khachatryan during a briefing with reporters in the National Assembly, adding that the civilian population in this border village must be ready for any situation.

“When there is a defense issue, the village must have its strategic plan on what everyone should do. Of course, the village is also involved in defense operations. There is an armory on site, there is no shortage of weapons, and every man knows what to do in certain war situations. This has been established in the last two years. Other communities should take Tegh as an example,” said Khachatryan.

According to him, every weapon has a name and surname attached to it, and villagers know which drawer in the armory holds their weapon and where they should stand if needed. Khachatryan emphasized that the border is defended either by border troops or our Armed Forces, and the villagers do not protect the border, which is why weapons have not been distributed to them.

According to Khachatryan, after the situation created by Azerbaijani provocations in the village of Tegh, there is a relatively calm state, but engineering works are ongoing on both sides.

It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani Armed Forces units opened fire towards the Tegh community around 16:00 on April 11, targeting Armenian Armed Forces servicemen conducting engineering works, leading to a response from the Armenian side. Around 17:30, Azerbaijani troops used mortar systems. As a result of the Azerbaijani provocations, 4 servicemen were killed, and 6 were wounded.
