Positive Efforts Made: Ohanyan Provides Details from Closed Parliamentary Session

During a closed parliamentary session convened at the initiative of the secretary of the "Armenia" faction, Artavazd Minasyan, a lively discussion took place with the leadership of the Armed Forces of Armenia. This information was shared with Sputnik Armenia by Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the "Armenia" faction and former Minister of Defense.

"The Chief of the General Staff and the Colonel of the National Security Service's border troops presented the situation in the Tegh village area. Issues related to the armed forces and other forces were discussed. We examined questions regarding the combat readiness and restoration of capabilities of the Armed Forces of Armenia. It is clear that positive efforts have been made," stated Ohanyan.

He noted that there are also obvious shortcomings, and what happened in Tegh village should be viewed in the context of connectivity, meaning everything has occurred in the corridor connecting Armenia and Artsakh.

Regarding these shortcomings, he highlighted that the Chief of the General Staff lacks knowledge in several diplomatic and political questions, which is a shortfall of the political authority.

It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire on April 11 at around 4:00 PM towards Armenian military personnel conducting engineering works in the Tegh community, prompting a retaliatory response from the Armenian side. As a result of the Azerbaijani provocation, the Armenian side has reported 4 fatalities and 6 injuries.
