EU Observers Were Not Present in the Area During Azerbaijan's Attack
The representatives of the European Union monitoring mission stationed in Armenia were not present in the area during Azerbaijan's attack on Armenian servicemen carrying out engineering work in the vicinity of Tegh village. They conducted monitoring in the area on the morning of April 11, prior to the onset of the attack.
Armenpress submitted an inquiry to the EU’s press service to find out whether the EU monitoring mission in Armenia had notified the EU about the Azerbaijani provocation that took place on April 11 and what the response of the EU leadership is to Azerbaijan's latest provocative actions, which disrupt efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.
The press department of the EU diplomatic service stated: “The EU mission in Armenia conducted regular patrols in the area of Tegh and Kornidzor villages on the morning of April 11. However, they were not present in the area when the incident occurred. Late in the evening, the mission was informed by Armenian authorities about the gunfire.”
