Elon Musk Refuses to Remove Dmitry Medvedev's Post from Twitter
American businessman and Twitter owner Elon Musk has declined to delete a post by Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, following a call from one of the social network's users. This was reported by TASS.
One Twitter user drew attention to the post made on Saturday, which explains why no one needs Ukraine. “All news is propaganda to some extent. Let people make their own decisions,” Musk said in response to the call to take action on Medvedev's account.
“This platform will neither promote nor restrict their (Russian government bodies) accounts, but we will quickly stop attempts to deceive the system,” he later added.
Last April, Twitter announced that it would stop suggesting posts to users connected to accounts of government authorities in states that allegedly restrict access to the 'open internet'. A company representative then noted that this measure would primarily impact the Russian government and affect more than 300 accounts.
