Abdollahian Had a Phone Conversation with Bayramov: What They Discussed
The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian held a phone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov. This was reported by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that the officials had an extensive discussion regarding developments in bilateral relations and regional issues.
During the conversations, existing problems and misunderstandings were addressed, as well as ways to resolve the current situation. The parties emphasized the necessity of mutual respect and the importance of respecting each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Abdollahian pointed out that the conflicts among the countries of the region only serve the interests of the enemies. The need for more control over the media was highlighted for the benefit of both nations and countries.
It should be noted that earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry had labeled the statements of the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman as "prejudiced" and "emotional." The Iranian Foreign Ministry representative Nasser Kanani referred to the expulsion of four Iranian diplomats from Baku as an unfriendly action.
