Why Azerbaijanis Have Positioned Themselves in Tegh Village: Former Deputy Minister of Defense Explains
The situation unfolding in Tegh village can be interpreted as an undeclared or declared demarcation of borders. This is reported by the newspaper "Hraparak".
"The opposing side positions itself wherever it desires, and not only does it stand there, but it also establishes military positions. This is not a civilian positioning; it is not merely a tent; these are clear actions of military fortification and positioning," stated Artak Zakaryan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) governing body and former Deputy Minister of Defense, during a press conference addressing journalists' concerns regarding the developments around Tegh village.
"This means that any future demarcation will once again be at the expense of the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia, because removing the positioned adversary from there is only possible through military means or through the application of significant external force. However, it is clear that this government will not be able to do that. This is why they are trying to divert public attention from the main, fundamental, and most important issues by creating internal intrigues. Today, people are more interested in who apologized to whom or who didn't apologize, rather than how many square meters we lost or didn't lose from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia," he added.
It should be noted that according to the NSS report, misunderstandings regarding maps have arisen during the deployment of Azerbaijani armed forces near Tegh village. In some areas, the Azerbaijani side began fortifying positions and carrying out engineering works without waiting for previously agreed clarifications.
