Azerbaijan Plans to 'Silence' Critics of Aliyev's Regime Abroad
Azerbaijan is set to combat critics of Aliyev's regime living abroad through legislative measures. During a plenary session of the Milli Majlis, Siyavush Novruzov, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on regional issues, stated that preventive measures need to be implemented against those residing abroad and spreading "false information" about Azerbaijan. He noted that such individuals receive funding from Iran and Armenia.
It is important to highlight that most of the critics of Aliyev and his government are Azerbaijanis who have been forced to leave their homeland due to repression and persecution. However, they continue to remain under threat. Many have faced attacks, and some have even been killed.
