Our Doors Are Closed to the US Ambassador in Turkey: Erdogan
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has refused any further meetings with the US ambassador in Ankara, who had previously held talks with the opposition's united candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu ahead of the May 14 elections.
Kilicdaroglu, a candidate from seven opposition parties, met with Jeffrey Flake, the head of the American diplomatic mission, at Erdogan's initiative, as reported earlier to RIA Novosti by the candidate's advisor, Unal Cevikez.
“Joe Biden’s ambassador visits Kemal, shame on you. Think with your head, you are an ambassador, your interlocutor here is the president. After that, what face are you going to stand with and expect to meet the president? Our doors are closed to him; he can no longer enter. Why? Let him know his place,” Erdogan's words are quoted by Star newspaper.
