Police Forces Detain MP Mher Sahakyan from National Assembly with Force: Kristine Vardanyan
Police forces have forcibly detained MP Mher Sahakyan from the National Assembly. An interrogation is currently taking place. This was stated in an interview with Tert.am by Kristine Vardanyan, an MP from the "Armenia" faction.
She referred to the words of Arthur Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the ruling "Civil Contract" faction, who claimed that Mher Sahakyan attacked Vladimir Vardanyan during a discussion and caused bodily harm.
"No such attack took place. It was an organized provocation, which has happened multiple times by government MPs, and this provocation received a response. Discussing any attack is unnecessary; I do not think that Vladimir Vardanyan is the person worth even contemplating an attack against," said Vardanyan.
It should be noted that an incident occurred between opposition and government MPs during a closed session of the National Assembly's Legal Affairs Committee.
