Switzerland Blocks $8 Billion Worth of Russian Assets
The Swiss government has blocked $8.1 billion worth of Russian assets under sanctions. This was reported by РИА Новости, citing Antje Berchi, a representative of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of Switzerland.
It was noted that Credit Suisse (CS), one of Switzerland's largest banks, may block other Russian assets that have been sanctioned by other countries.
Previously, the local SonntagsZeitung newspaper reported that Credit Suisse has blocked or frozen more than one third of the Russian assets registered in Switzerland, amounting to 17.6 billion francs (over $19 billion).
