Heavy Trucks Movement Halted at Lars
Due to worsening weather conditions in Georgia, the movement of heavy vehicles on the section of the Georgian military highway leading to North Ossetia has been suspended, reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
"Due to the deterioration of weather conditions in the territory of Georgia, the impossibility of ensuring the safe movement of vehicles, and considering the recommendations of the Georgian border police, the movement of heavy trucks is prohibited on the Vladikavkaz-Lars section in the direction of exiting the Russian Federation from 22:20 Moscow time until further notice," the statement said.
The Georgian military highway is currently the only land route connecting not only Georgia but also Armenia with Russia.
