International Position Will Eventually Lead to Concrete Results: Mirzoyan on His Speech Outcomes at the OSCE
The international community has a clear understanding of what is happening in the Lachin corridor. This statement was made by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly, referring to his speech at a special OSCE meeting yesterday.
"The discussion was held in a closed format, so I cannot share many details. However, my speech was followed by numerous statements, and it was clear that the international community has a very concrete understanding of what is happening in the Lachin corridor, including what violations have occurred, what actions are being taken, what obligations should be fulfilled but are not being met," said Mirzoyan.
According to Mirzoyan, there is a clear awareness regarding the Lachin issue, not only within the OSCE, but also observable in the public positions of individual countries' parliaments. The Foreign Minister believes that the international stance will eventually lead to very specific results.
Regarding the United Nations, Mirzoyan noted that, unfortunately, the document circulated by the UN Security Council was not accepted due to the perspectives of certain countries and also friendly nations. Nevertheless, according to Mirzoyan, the UN Security Council is a crucial platform, and work will continue there.
It is noteworthy that on the morning of December 12, a group of Azerbaijani individuals in civilian clothes blocked the Stepanakert-Goris highway connecting Artsakh to Armenia under the pretext of environmental reasons near the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection. Starting December 13, the Azerbaijani side also shut off the gas supply to Artsakh. On the morning of December 16, gas supply was restored. However, it was interrupted again and was restored hours later on January 17. The Lachin corridor remains closed.
