Iran on the Withdrawal of Foreign Forces from Syria
Iran is ready to facilitate the systematic withdrawal of all foreign forces fighting in Syria. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in an interview with the French television channel France 24, according to TASS.
“Iran is ready to call for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Syria,” Zarif said.
“We are prepared for all those who have influence to strive to expel non-Syrians from Syrian territory,” the Iranian Foreign Minister added.
At the same time, the head of Iran's Foreign Ministry indicated that Iranians and Lebanese Shiites would leave Syria only if the same were done by foreign Sunni Islamist militants fighting on the side of the opposition, who are supported by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
