Bayramov Discusses Alternative Route and 'Zangezur Corridor'
The Azerbaijani side will have an alternative short route from the Zangezan region to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This announcement was made today during a press conference by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, according to TASS.
“Azerbaijan has already begun the construction of a bridge over the Araz River based on a memorandum signed with Iran. Thus, the Azerbaijani side will have an alternative short route from the Zangezan region to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic,” the minister stated.
He emphasized that, in any case, Azerbaijan will “advance its interests” and “will demand that Armenia fulfill its obligations.” According to him, “Armenia is harming itself by preventing the opening of the ‘Zangezur Corridor.’”
