“Those Sitting Next to You Were Also Protesting in '92”: Gegham Manukyan to Konyjoryan
During a special session of the National Assembly, Gegham Manukyan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, responded to the statement made by Hayk Konyjoryan from the ruling party, according to which 'the Armenian Revolutionary Federation was protesting in 1992 in Yerevan, demanding the resignation of the then authorities.'
'It is very difficult to explain to someone with a brief political biography due to age about events that took place years, even decades, ago. Here, in the name of the ruling faction, they recalled the summer of '92 when the ARF was protesting. The ARF was protesting, and rightly so, but it wasn’t just the ARF; those sitting next to you were also at those protests. The ARF was protesting in Yerevan to defend Artsakh, while hundreds of ARF members were fighting. The ARF was protesting, and at the same time, during those days in the National Assembly, they were forcing the authorities to sign a document prohibiting any state officials from signing anything stating that Artsakh was part of Azerbaijan. For 30 years, Kapan lived in security, so that now Kapan would live under the clutches of the Turk again. At that time, Nerk'in Hand was being liberated, now it is the Turk's,' said Manukyan.
