Iran Claims Involvement of 47 Countries in Recent Unrest

Iran has reported that 47 countries are involved in the recent unrest occurring in the country. A member of the Iranian Parliament's Cultural Commission stated, “In the recent unrest, 47 countries and 11 intelligence agencies actively participated. Several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, are among them. They have also used their entire intelligence capabilities against Iran.”

He further noted that there have been over one million calls on social media for protests, and if one person joins the streets for every call, a million people would participate in the demonstrations, yet ultimately only 130,000 people have engaged in these events across the country.

It is important to recall that the UN asserts there is a “full-scale humanitarian crisis” in Iran. “The unnecessary and disproportionate use of force must end. Old methods and a besieged fortress mentality cannot justify such actions,” stated the UN human rights commissioner, asserting that, by modest estimates, 300 people have died in Iran since the start of the protests, including 40 children.
