Chisinau May Face Water Shortage, Mayor Warns
Mayor Ion Ceban of Chisinau has warned via his Telegram channel that the city may face a water shortage due to insufficient electricity supply.
“Dear residents, we have been warned that today we may end up without water. We have presented all arguments to the central authorities and responsible agencies that the water supply system can no longer operate under the conditions of high electricity and gas prices,” wrote Ceban.
He noted that the water supply issue caused by insufficient electricity is related to the Apă Canal water supply company, which is forced to pay three times more for electricity than before. Ceban has warned of a disaster that could lead to water disruptions during the winter.
