Azerbaijan Tries to Impose New Concessions on Armenia, Says French Senator

The victory of Azerbaijan in the 2020 war is reminiscent of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Now, Azerbaijan, taking advantage of Russia's preoccupations in Ukraine, seeks to achieve more. This was stated by French Senator André Giole.

According to him, Azerbaijan speaks from a position of power, trying to impose new concessions on Armenia. “We must vote in favor of this resolution to compel Azerbaijan to comply with international law norms. Azerbaijani forces must withdraw from the Lachin corridor. We need to support the French government in influencing Azerbaijan through the UN Security Council and the EU. We have a moral obligation towards the Armenians,” the senator emphasized.

A discussion took place in the French Senate regarding a resolution calling for the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces from occupied territories of Armenia, ensuring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement of November 9, 2020, and imposing sanctions against Azerbaijan, followed by a vote.
