Russian Language Education No Longer Allowed in Kyiv
The authorities in Kyiv have prohibited instruction in the Russian language in kindergartens and schools, as well as teaching children that language. This decision was made by the Kyiv City Council, as reported by Rambler.
“In the current circumstances, conducting the educational process in Russian and teaching the Russian language in preschool and general education institutions, which are communal property of the Kyiv territorial community, is inappropriate and incorrect,” the council's press service stated.
According to Vadim Vasilchuk, head of the permanent commission on education, science, family, youth, and sports at the Kyiv City Council, this matter is a question of national security.
