Azerbaijani Armed Forces Open Fire Towards Verin Shorzha and Goris
Azerbaijani armed forces have begun shelling Armenian positions towards Verin Shorzha. This is reported by Armenian Telegram channels. According to Баграмян 26, the Azerbaijani military has also started shelling towards Goris. Intense shelling has already been ongoing for half an hour in the Vardenis area.
Recall that the Azerbaijani armed forces launched an attack along the state border of the Republic of Armenia on the night of September 12 to 13, around 00:05, carrying out military operations in the directions of Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Gegharkunik regions.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has reported that positions located in Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish, and Ishkhanasar directions have been subjected to shelling. Strikes are also being carried out on civilian infrastructure. Intense operations continued throughout the night.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Armenian side has suffered 49 casualties. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Aram Torosyan, stated during an evening briefing that the situation remains tense in certain sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as of 18:00. He added that the data regarding Armenian losses is being clarified.
