Hayk Mardinyan Under Law Enforcement Spotlight
Recent news reports have emerged indicating that former Yerevan mayor Hayk Mardinyan is under investigation by law enforcement. It has been mentioned that on February 18, 2019, Mardinyan granted permission for the "reconstruction of a restaurant complex, expansion, and the construction of a new building with a larger area" on a land plot located at 110 Bagrevand Street in Yerevan, without the intended purpose changing for the industrial subsoil use and other production-related activities.
Auroranews confirmed the information from the Investigative Committee of Armenia, stating: "The procedure has been terminated and sent to the Anti-Corruption Committee." The agency did not provide any further details.
