How Germany Will Protect Consumers and Businesses from Inflation
Germany will spend €65 billion on a third package of measures aimed at protecting consumers and businesses from the rapid rise in inflation, according to a document released by the government on Sunday, Reuters reported.
The measures, which include extending discounted public transport and providing €1.7 billion in tax breaks to 9,000 energy companies, have been agreed upon with the three parties of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's governing coalition.
“This is the largest of the three packages to date,” Scholz said at a press conference.
