Zelensky on Ban of Russian Citizens Entering the Country for 50 Years
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has discussed a proposal to ban Russian citizens from entering Ukraine for the next 50 years. The head of state has published a response text addressing this issue. This information was reported by TASS.
“The President of Ukraine consistently supports measures aimed at strengthening control over the entry of Russian citizens into Ukrainian territory. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 17, 2022, No. 692, terminates the agreement on the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the Russian Federation and imposes restrictions on the crossing of the state border of Ukraine by citizens of the Russian Federation, particularly residents from border areas. The visa regime with Russia has been in effect since July 1, 2022,” Zelensky stated.
It has been noted that the Cabinet of Ministers has been “called upon to continue the specified work, considering the developments of the situation and the necessity of protecting the national interests of the state.”
