The Consequences Will Be Severe: Russia's Foreign Ministry Warning to the U.S.
Russia urges the U.S. not to take provocative actions and not to supply long-range systems to Ukraine. This statement was made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov during a broadcast on the Rossiya 24 television channel.
“This path will lead nowhere. The consequences will be severe, and the responsibility for them will fully fall on the shoulders of the ruling circles in Washington,” he said.
According to Ryabkov, the U.S. is just a small step away from becoming a party to the conflict in Ukraine. “We have repeatedly warned the U.S. about the consequences that may arise when it engages in supplying arms and providing direct assistance to Kyiv, effectively placing itself in a position where it can be fully considered a party to the conflict. The thin line that separates the U.S. from becoming a party to this conflict should not be an illusion for the reckless forces with anti-Russian sentiments, thinking that crossing it will leave everything as it is,” the deputy foreign minister stated.
Earlier, Russia sent a note of protest to NATO countries for supplying military supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has noted that any cargo containing military supplies for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that NATO countries are playing with fire by supplying military supplies to Ukraine. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the West’s provision of weapons to Ukraine does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and has a negative impact.
