France Responds to Azerbaijan
France's permanent representation to the OSCE has responded to the remarks made by Azerbaijan.
“Do you know that France has been co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group along with the United States and Russia since January 1, 1997? The group provides a platform for negotiations for the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, ultimately aimed at establishing stability in the South Caucasus,” the representation stated on its Twitter account.
It is important to note that Azerbaijan's presidential assistant Hikmet Hajiyev announced today in Shushi that the issue of Karabakh is closed, and the OSCE Minsk Group is a thing of the past. “I have a message for those who seek to invoke the Minsk Group as mediators to resolve the existing issues; that group does not exist, just like there are no international issues that require mediators,” Hajiyev said in Shushi.
