Putin Signs Decree to Increase Armed Forces Personnel
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to increase the personnel of the armed forces by 137,000 starting January 1, 2023, according to Кommersant.ru.
The total composition of the Russian Armed Forces has reached 2,039,758. The number of contract servicemen has been raised to 1,150,628.
A previous decree from November 17, 2017, established that the total composition of the Russian Armed Forces was 1,902,758 units, including 1,013,628 servicemen.
