550 Free Spots Remain Vacant in Universities, Minister of Education Expresses Concern
Out of the 1,918 free spots allocated to universities, 1,433 have been filled, while 6,518 out of 21,761 paid spots have been taken. This leaves 550 free spots vacant.
This was announced by Armen Pashayan, the director of the Assessment and Testing Center, during a recent meeting of the republican admissions committee.
During the meeting, Minister of Education Vahram Dumanyan addressed the issue of university admissions and the vacant spots, expressing concerns over the fact that it is unacceptable for students to gain admission to universities with minimum threshold scores in fields of strategic importance for the country.
“It is not acceptable to simply gather students without considering their academic level,” emphasized the minister, urging universities to take appropriate measures to enhance the appeal of these fields.
The Assessment and Testing Center will publish the results of the admission exams on July 18.
