Will the Issue of Vehicle Congestions at Upper Lars Be Resolved? The State Revenue Committee Reached an Agreement with Russia
The State Revenue Committee and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure jointly announce that as a result of working discussions between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, an agreement was reached. On June 20 of this year, the Government of the Russian Federation adopted a decision to allocate additional space approximately 3-4 km away from the Upper Lars international motor checkpoint, operated by the North Caucasian Customs Directorate of the Federal Customs Service, where customs control operations for about 250 vehicles can also be conducted.
This arrangement is expected to positively impact the increase in the checkpoint's throughput, the elimination of vehicle congestions, and the proper management of the existing queues.
