Ukraine Seeks NATO Membership Format Without Actual Accession, Says Ukrainian Delegation Member
In negotiations regarding security guarantees between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, Ukrainian delegation representative Oleksandr Chalyi stated that Ukraine is looking for a way to find a NATO membership format without actual accession.
“We are searching for a way to make our dream come true—to have guarantees similar to those of NATO countries, but these guarantees will be obtained through an agreement between NATO, Ukraine, and the Russian Federation,” he said in an interview with Ukrainian television channels.
The five permanent members of the UN Security Council are expected to become security guarantors for Ukraine, which includes Russia.
