International Competitions That May Not Be Held in Russia

The Russian RBK has compiled a list of competitions that Russia may not host in the near future.

Football World Cup playoffs: March 26-29, Moscow. In Group B of the playoffs, Russia, Poland, Sweden, and the Czech Republic will compete for a ticket to the World Cup in Qatar. In the semifinals, Russia will play against Poland in Moscow. If victorious, the final match will also take place in Moscow. However, the football associations of Poland, Sweden, and the Czech Republic have jointly issued a statement against holding the 2022 World Cup playoffs in Moscow due to the situation in Ukraine. FIFA will make a final decision regarding the tournament soon.

Ice Hockey World Championships: March 27 – April 3, Syktyvkar.

Women's Volleyball Nations League: July 28 – June 3, Ufa; Men’s Competition: July 5-10, Kemerovo.

Women's European Boxing Championships: July 21-31, Ulan-Ude.

Men's Volleyball World Championships: August 26 – September 11, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yaroslavl, Kazan, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, and Krasnoyarsk.

European Curling Championships: November 19-26, Perm.

2023 Youth Ice Hockey World Championships: December 26, 2022 – January 5, 2023, Omsk and Novosibirsk.

Ice Hockey World Championships: May 5-21, Saint Petersburg.

UEFA Super Cup: August, Kazan.

Summer Universiade: August 8-19, Yekaterinburg.

World Shooting Championships: August 14-31, Moscow.

European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships: May 17-21, Moscow.

World Wrestling Championships: September 16-24, Krasnoyarsk.
