Canada to Impose Sanctions Due to Russia's Recognition of Donbas
Canada is considering imposing sanctions against Russia following its decision to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). This was stated on Monday by Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly.
“Canada will respond firmly to this disregard for international law alongside our partners and allies... We are prepared to impose economic sanctions... in response to Russia's ongoing military intervention in Ukraine,” the head of the diplomatic agency said.
