The Situation in Ukraine May Deteriorate Sharply Next Week, Says British Foreign Secretary
Western countries must be prepared for a sharp deterioration in the situation surrounding Ukraine next week. This was stated by British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss during a speech at the Munich Security Conference.
“We are living through one of the most dangerous moments for European security since the early 20th century. We must show unprecedented unity. Many would like to see the situation take a more positive turn, but I believe we must prepare for the worst-case scenario, which could unfold as early as next week,” she said.
According to her, NATO must be confident that it has more advanced types of weaponry than Russia. “NATO must be confident that ahead of us, Russia is with its types of weaponry. We focus on areas such as the cyber domain and the information space. Moreover, we need to invest more in our logistics and strengthen NATO’s eastern flank,” the minister stated.
