Ukrainian and French Presidents Hold Phone Conversation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron discussed the security situation in Ukraine during a phone conversation, as well as ways to enhance negotiations within the Normandy format (Germany, Russia, Ukraine, and France) and the contact group. Zelenskyy posted about the conversation on Twitter on Saturday.
“We continued our dialogue with Emmanuel Macron. I thanked him for his visit to Ukraine. We talked about the security situation and the ways to intensify the peace process within the Normandy Four and the contact group,” Zelenskyy wrote.
Additionally, according to reports, the parties exchanged views on recent international negotiations. A week earlier, Macron had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelenskyy also had a phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as stated by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba during a broadcast on Saturday on the 1+1 television channel.
