Turkey Threatens to Ban Broadcasts of Deutsche Welle, Voice of America, and Euronews
The Turkish broadcasting authority announced on February 10 that Deutsche Welle, Voice of America, and Euronews must apply for a license to broadcast and distribute their content. Failure to comply with this requirement will render these channels unavailable within Turkey.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan threatened to take measures against media content that contradicts national and moral values.
