Cultural Heritage Preservation Discussed with Official Baku and Yerevan: Zakharova

The theme of cultural heritage preservation is regularly discussed in our communications with official Baku and Yerevan. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, while commenting on the creation of a working group on the 'Aghvanization' of Armenian monuments under the control of Baku.

“We certainly advocate for the swift organization of a UNESCO mission in the region and are also working along the lines of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group,” she said.

Zakharova noted that in the joint statement of the Foreign Ministers of Russia, the United States, and France on December 7, 2021, Armenia and Azerbaijan are called to continue cooperation under the auspices of the co-chairs to achieve real progress on humanitarian issues, including the protection of historical and cultural objects.
