Now Azerbaijan is Paying Hungary Back: Stepan Danielyan
Political scientist Stepan Danielyan's commentary.
“What does Hungary have to do with mediating in the release of captives? Hungary is an observer member of the Turkic states union and positions itself as a nation of Turkic descent. It served Azerbaijan and sent the Azerbaijani soldier who attacked an Armenian officer in Budapest back to Baku, after which, at Armenia's initiative, the embassies of the two countries were closed. Now Azerbaijan is paying Hungary back and presenting the release of Armenian captives as Hungary’s mediation, giving it the opportunity to atone for its past wrongs.”
