David Tonoyan to Make Sensational Revelations: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports: 'The preliminary investigation into the criminal case against former Defense Minister David Tonoyan has been completed, and the case will enter the court in January. Recently, his lawyers requested the investigator to terminate the criminal prosecution, but the request was denied. They are preparing to appeal this denial to the prosecutor's office. Tonoyan has informed his lawyers that if the appeal is rejected, then the time will come for him to speak, and he will no longer remain silent, making sensational revelations.
It is noted that a criminal case has been initiated by the National Security Service regarding alleged abuses in the procurement of military ammunition, particularly concerning the acquisition of low-quality, unusable missiles. Within the framework of this criminal case, charges have been brought against seven individuals, including former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan, arms supplier businessman David Galstyan (known as 'Patron Davo'), and former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Stepan Galstyan. Tonoyan is accused under Article 179, part 3 of the RA Criminal Code for large-scale embezzlement. The amount in question is approximately 2 billion 277 million 323 thousand Armenian drams.'
