‘Mkrtchyan Karen, I Will Make Your Life Hell’: Aram Melkonyan

There has already been a report on the situation created in the Vardenis council. An incident occurred between Aram Melkonyan from the Civil Contract party and Karen Mkrtchyan from the Aharon Khachatryan alliance.

‘You are a journalist, what did you see, did you understand anything from this situation? Whatever problem there was with Melkonyan, only Melkonyan knows. Why did this person attack?’ asked the opposition members.

‘Karen Mkrtchyan has been involved in dirty deeds, I have been building this community for three years and I cannot allow people like him to enter the municipality. Enough of plundering the community, Karen Mkrtchyan,’ Melkonyan later stated.

It is worth noting that during the local government elections held on December 5, the Civil Contract party received 13 mandates, the Aharon Khachatryan alliance got 10, and the United Vardenis gathered 4. The opposition forces signed a memorandum to form a coalition after the elections. The number of mandates was already sufficient to elect a mayor.

Following the announcement of the coalition, A. Harutyunyan, the head of the United Vardenis alliance list, was arrested.
