Samvel Gasparyan Wins Bronze Medal at Weightlifting World Championships

At the Weightlifting World Championships taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Armenian delegation secured its second medal.

In the men's 102 kg weight category, our weightlifters Samvel Gasparyan and Arsen Martirosyan demonstrated results of 175 kg and 170 kg respectively in the snatch event, finishing in 3rd and 6th places. However, they received zero points in the clean and jerk, eliminating them from medal contention. Nevertheless, Samvel Gasparyan was awarded a bronze medal for the snatch.

Previously, our 89 kg weightlifter Andranik Khachatryan claimed a gold medal in the snatch event. Tomorrow, the reigning world champion, Simon Martirosyan, competing in the 109 kg weight category, will take the stage.
