Who Will Be Appointed as Deputy Prime Minister? - 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports that Suren Papikyan was relieved of his position as Deputy Prime Minister yesterday and appointed as Minister of Defense. According to reports, Romanos Petrosyan, the Minister of Environment, will be appointed as Deputy Prime Minister. He will also take on one of Papikyan's 'extra' functions, overseeing local self-governments.
Although Gnel Sanosyan is officially responsible for the sector, government sources claim that he has not been fulfilling all political directives. This is why Papikyan was tasked with managing the local elections. However, like Avinyan, his efforts also vanished into thin air, and Syunik exhibited defiance against Pashinyan and his team.
Just a month ago, the ruling party suffered defeats in Meghri, Goris, Tatev, and yesterday in Kapan. Incidentally, Arshak Karapetyan, the now-former Minister of Defense, was appointed to that position on August 2, 2021, meaning he had not even completed 100 days in office.
