Anahit Avanesyan on Wearing Masks
The Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, noted that the orders of the Minister of Health aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic are not subject to discretionary application or non-application. Avanesyan discussed this with journalists in response to comments regarding the bypassing of the Ministry of Health's decisions by certain officials.
“If these decisions have already been approved and have taken legal effect, then they are mandatory for all citizens of the Republic of Armenia on an equal basis, and no position or other status can be an exception,” said the minister.
She emphasized that while the epidemiological situation has somewhat stabilized, it does not mean that anti-epidemic measures should be relaxed. “The choice is very clear: either we wear masks and get vaccinated, or we, along with our loved ones, will be relying on artificial respiration devices and, unfortunately, fighting for our lives,” she added.
